Human Resources Generalist

Description: This position provides various professional human resources services and consultation to university departments.
Duties:
  • Administer and coordinate recruitment, referral and employment activities
  • Provide assistance with classification/compensation efforts
  • Coordinate workplace safety
  • Employee wellness initiatives
  • Provide support for human resources data management including creation of specialized reports and further development of the human resource information system
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelorís degree in human resources, business or related field and 1-3 years human resource experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of and skill in applying the principles, practices and procedures of human resources administration in the areas of recruitment, employment, compensation and classification
  • Knowledge of and skill in interpreting and applying state and federal statutes and applicable rules and regulations related to the management of human resources
  • Knowledge of statistical methods and concepts and other analytical tools used in human resources processes
  • Expertise in Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with relational database (HRIS) systems required
  • Ability to create database queries and a variety of analytics to provide support for human resource decision making
