Adjunct Faculty- Genetics Instructor

Description:This position would begin on January 6, 2014 and work 5 hours per week. The duration of the assignment is roughly 15 weeks from the start date.

This position will teach Mondays from 10:00 am - 11:30 am and Wednesdays from 8:30 am - 12:00 pm.
Duties:1. Teach a 4 credit Genetics course that discusses the principles and methods used in the study of genetics
2. Cover topics including:
- the structure and function of genes, chromosomes, and genomes
- the biological variation resulting from recombination, mutation, and selection
- population genetics
- the use of genetic methods to analyze protein function
- gene regulation
- inherited diseases
Qualifications:1. PhD in Biology or related field
2. Three years of college level teaching experience in Biology or related field
3. Experience teaching in online environments preferred
